Compression garments are designed differently from regular clothing and may not fit as expected. They are tailored to contour the body with a snug, supportive fit to provide optimal compression benefits. To ensure the best fit, accurate measurements are essential. When choosing a size, always consider the specific area of your body undergoing surgery. If your measurements fall between sizes, choose the larger size for comfort and effectiveness.

Tip 1: Use a soft measuring tape – Ensure it is straight and level around your body.

Tip 2: Measure the widest part of the area where the garment will be worn.

Tip 3: Keep the tape snug but not tight.

Tip 4: Stand upright while measuring – Wear a thin-lined bra if applicable, and avoid
push-up or heavily padded bras, as they can affect accuracy.

For facial garments

1. Locate the vertical seam and its lateral straps, and place the chin in the chin cup.

2. Secure the hook-and-loop fastener over the head.

3. Secure the second hook-and-loop fastener behind the neck.

For arm and/or chest garments

1. The size label should be positioned on the inside, resting against your back.

2. Open the garment completely, slide arm into the arm holes/sleeves.

3. Fasten the hooks. If you have a zippered garment, fasten the hooks first for easier
zipping. The middle row of hooks is usually the best for hook-and-eye closures.

4. If applicable, adjust the shoulder strap as needed.

For mid and lower body garments

1. The size label should be positioned on the inside, resting against your back.

2. If applicable, unfasten all zippers and/or hooks.

3. Step into the leg openings and gently pull the garment up your legs, similar to putting on pantyhose. Handle with care to avoid snagging with sharp fingernails.

4. If applicable, ensure the crotch opening is properly aligned as you pull the garment up.

5. Adjust the shoulder straps if needed.
